Transforming local leadership into collective, systemic influence

Convener Catalyst

What role do place-based conveners play in building trust and sustaining participation? How can we create the conditions for widespread, effective and sustainable local leadership?

Convener Catalyst
Project overview

Supporting local leaders

This project supports communities to reimagine the role of streets as the foundational public spaces where community resilience and democratic participation flourish. The Convenor Network connects community leaders, documents successful approaches, and translates these into accessible tools for others to utilise. Together, we can create an ecosystem of empowered local stewards across Greater Melbourne.

Our role

Catalysing what is required

We work with local leaders to better understand how to support, catalyse and amplify their efforts. This has led to the emergence of the Convenor Network which we host and nurture. Our role involves facilitation and networking, alongside the practical utilisation of our influence to enable the work of the network of convenors.
